FAQs About Renewing Your MCLC Membership
MCLC is now using an automated system to make renewing easier than ever. Before you renew, please review the following frequently asked questions. When you’re ready, use the links at the bottom of the page to submit your renewal form.
Have a question we didn’t answer? Contact admin@MassCLC.org.
How can I check my current membership type and expiration date?
Your current membership type is listed near the top of your online profile as “Group.” Your expiration date is shown directly below it. You cannot edit these fields; they are automatically updated when you renew your membership.
Will you always remind me to renew?
Yes. You’ll receive a series of e-mail reminders starting 60 days before your expiration date. We encourage you to renew as soon as possible to ensure that your MCLC and IACP member benefits continue without interruption. When you renew with MCLC, your membership with each organization will be extended one year from your current expiration date. See “What about my IACP membership renewal?” for more information.
What if I don’t renew by my expiration date?
MCLC will deactivate your membership on your expiration date and all your member benefits will stop. As an expired member you will have access only to the public section of the MCLC Web site.
Don’t let this happen: Renew by your expiration date!
How much does it cost to renew?
Associate Membership: $125
Full Membership: $325
Remind me: What’s included in my membership?
To accommodate everyone who is currently involved in Collaborative Law or interested in learning more, MCLC offers two membership levels:
Associate Membership is designed for those individuals who may not meet the professional qualifications for full membership but who have taken the training and have an interest in working with collaborative Practitioners and being part of MCLC. If you meet the professional qualifications, you must join as a Full Member (with or without Paid Profile) for maximum benefits. For more information, see MCLC Membership Standards for Collaborative Practitioners.
Associate Membership includes:
Full Membership includes all the benefits of Associate Membership plus:
Along with standard contact information, you can add the following:
Best value for your membership dollar: Enjoy all the great member benefits and market yourself to potential clients and collaborative partners online—all the time—for less than $1 a day.
With our new membership categories, I may have switched membership types, what about my profile?
Just to be safe, please update your profile and make a copy for your records before starting the renewal process. When you're done, click "Membership Renewals" in the left sidebar to return to this page.
That way if you want to make changes later, you’ll have a record of your previous profile and all the information it contained. You can use your copy to recreate your paid profile.
Why do you ask Full Members to provide professional liability insurance information?
Collaborative Practice is a team process. Requiring that Full Members have professional liability insurance helps MCLC maintain the highest professional standards for all members.
You’ll need to provide the following information when you renew:
What is the Bette Winik Scholarship Fund?
The Bette Winik Scholarship Fund provides support for individuals who wish to participate in training and conferences in Collaborative Law but lack the financial resources to do so. The Council has given dozens of scholarships made possible by member donations.
When you renew, please take the opportunity to contribute. Your support will be sincerely appreciated!
What about my IACP membership renewal? How does that work?
All full members of MCLC who renew automatically receive an additional year of whole-group membership in IACP. Associate members may elect to participate by paying an additional fee of $100 per year.
Renewing your IACP membership through MCLC is easy. On the MCLC renewal form we ask that you:
That’s all you need to do. MCLC sends one dues payment to IACP on the first of each month for all MCLC members who have renewed the previous month. Please renew with MCLC as soon as possible so your IACP membership doesn’t lapse during this processing period.
Can I renew for more than one year or make my renewal automatic from year to year?
Not right now. We may consider those options for the future.
How do I pay for my renewal?
MCLC accepts VISA, MasterCard and Discover. We also accept checks. Just select the appropriate payment option on the renewal form.
If you’re paying by check, be sure to make it payable to “MCLC” and mail it as soon as you renew to:
MCLC
P.O. Box 62
Ashland, NH 03217-0062
Please note: If we don’t receive your check within 5 business days of the date you submit your renewal, we’ll deactivate your membership. Don’t let this happen! Please mail your check as soon as you renew.
I have a question you didn’t answer. How do I contact you?
E-mail admin@MassCLC.org. We’ll be happy to help.
