Fundamentals of Collaborative Practice is
an interdisciplinary training for lawyers,
financial advisors, mental health professionals
and other interested professionals in the basics
of collaborative dispute resolution. The faculty
consists of experienced professionals, many whom
have trained other professionals in collaborative
practice skills and theory throughout the
United
States
and
internationally. The two-day highly interactive
program incorporates demonstrations and ‘hands on"
participation in a unique and rich environment for
learning.
Collaborative practice combines
interest-based negotiation with the added security
and benefits of attorney advocacy, without the
threat of litigation. Divorce coaches help
identify goals, interests and concerns while
increasing the effectiveness of the process.
Financial specialists provide multiple solutions
to fit the parties' needs for projections and
sophisticated tax analyses. Creative analysis of
the issues, use of joint experts and informal team
conferences are key components to providing
resolution in an atmosphere free of impending
litigation. With collaborative practice training
you can offer your clients an alternative to
litigation which resolves conflicts with dignity
and respect.
After
completing this training, you may be eligible for
membership in the Massachusetts Collaborative Law
Council (MCLC). The MCLC provides many
opportunities to hone your collaborative skills
through members’ meetings, networking, advances
trainings and practice groups as well as to
develop a collaborative practice.
